Registration and entries open for new 2019 MSVR Elise Trophy

Friday 22nd February 2019

MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) is pleased to announce that registration and entries are now open for the new 2019 MSVR Elise Trophy Championship.

The Elise Trophy was the first series to be launched in conjunction with MSVR, with its inaugural race taking place at Brands Hatch in March 2007. After many successful years the series was awarded championship status at the end of the 2013 season.

During its early years the Elise Trophy was arguably the highest profile club race series in the UK, supporting numerous top class events including DTM, World Touring Cars and A1GP. The championship’s own annual event “The Lotus Festival” was even supported by the Formula 1 team of the day, with Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli both driving classic Lotus F1 cars. Other guest drivers in the series have included the world’s fastest man – Wing Commander Andy Green OBE, BBC1 F1 Presenter Jake Humphrey and ex-F1 Lotus racer Martin Donnelly who returned to a Lotus race car in the Elise Trophy back in 2007 and has competed in numerous races since.

From the 2019 season MSVR will run the championship in house, promising to provide a safe, friendly, fair and affordable series for those wishing to progress from track days into racing. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Road Race Rally Engineering will be the official power testers, and the Avon ZZR will be the control tyre for 2019 – as they both are with Lotus Cup Europe.

The 2019 Championship Regulations have also received outline approval from Motorsport UK.

The MSVR Elise Trophy will be represented at the MSVR Season Launch Day at Brands Hatch on 27th February.

This year’s calendar will see the championship kick off at Donington Park in April, before heading to Cadwell Park in May. Silverstone National beckons in June, with a visit to the marque’s spiritual home in Norfolk in July, at Snetterton. After a brief summer break the action resumes at Brands Hatch GP and Donington Park GP at either end of September.
